BACKGROUND:
Peter joined Gauntlet Ventures as a General Partner bringing a wide and vast amount of enterprise experience to help portfolio companies to scale. Over his distinguished career, Peter has served in a variety executive roles in addition to advisory positions.
Peter is a global business executive with over two decades of global technology, software, and business experience with the IBM Corporation, one of the world’s foremost enterprises with nearly $60 billion in revenues and 300 thousand employees in over 170 countries around the world. During his career at IBM, Peter was a member of the corporate strategy and technology staff for two consecutive Chairman, President & CEOs of IBM. In addition, he served as a global brand leader for IBM technology businesses that grew from $100 million to over $1 billion in revenue world-wide. Later, Mr. Psaras had a similar role for IBM’s global enterprise software portfolio generating revenues in excess of $1B annually. While with IBM, he was engaged in several multi-million-dollar strategic consulting engagements, including with McKinsey & Company. He has received both US and international patents for his inventions while carrying out research as a member of the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. Peter is also the Principal & Managing Director of Global Futures Group, Smart city design to improve the quality of life for all levels of socioeconomic communities in growing urban centers.
Peter is an Advisory Council Member – International Science Reserve ISR of the New York Academy of Sciences NYAS which was founded in 1817 with a mission of “shaping the future of science”. The International Science Reserve mobilizes the global scientific community to respond to complex mega crisis in countries around the world such as climate related disasters and pandemics by establishing a global network of volunteer scientists and preparing them to act when mega crises hit thereby alleviating human and animal suffering.
Peter was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering, the first in IBM’s 100 year history to receive this honor. While assigned to the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. he studied and wrote on issues of national significance. Mr. Psaras is a published scientist and author, including editor of the National Academy of Science’s book, “Advancing Materials Research”, and over two dozen peer-reviewed journal articles.
Peter received a BS (Summa Cum Laude) from Colorado State University; an Executive MBA in international business from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University; and completed executive management programs at Harvard Business School, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and Northwestern’s JL Kellogg School of Management.
